Our Virtual Field Trip to India


Today room 113 Skyped with India. This is what we learned.

1. They drive Auto-Rickshaws.
2. They don’t have any Starbucks.
3. There are 17 million people in the city of New Delhi.
4. Cows roam around the streets.
5. The milk comes in a box. It doesn’t have to be refrigerated.
6. They don’t have Krispy Kreme. But they do have Dunkin Donuts.
7. During the Diwali holiday they shoot fireworks, they have presents and a big feast. It’s kind of like Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s all rolled into one.
8. They have tailors that make great Star Wars costumes.
9. It’s hard to get around because of all the people.
10. It’s really, really hot in the summer and the spring, The winter is in the upper 60s and lower 70s.
11. The women wear saris which are bright colors like yellow, pink and purple.
12. Cows are protected by the Hindu religion so you don’t eat beef.
13. Monkeys roam around. You can visit a monkey temple.
